Tanya N. Wright brings over 30 years of Legal and Financial Services expertise to the Firm and has earned national, regional and international respect as an accomplished Attorney and astute business professional. In 2000, Attorney Tanya Wright broke new ground, steering the country’s first Trust company for Bahamians through early development where she helped to design and introduce the concepts of personal, real estate, insurance and pension benefits Trusts to the Bahamian public.
As Chamber President she helped to reposition this esteemed business institution as an influential voice of its membership and the entire business community and the premier representative of the Bahamian private sector. In her two (2) consecutive terms in office she spearheaded Private Sector Missions around the world creating and strengthening relationships of cooperation with regions in India, China, Latin America, The Caribbean, North and South America. Her role as President of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce had her in frequent consultation with key public and private sector stakeholders, on issues of national and international relevance and importance. As Vice President and Director of The Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce, CAIC, the umbrella organization for the Regional Private Sector, she has participated in many Business and Heads of Government forum including the inauguration of the Caribbean Business Council.
Prior to joining the Bank she served as Acting Stipendiary and Circuit Magistrate. She has lectured in Contract Law and Labour Law at various local institutes and has led numerous seminars on Trusts, Wills and other legal/financial matters. Mrs. Wright attended St. Augustine's College in Nassau and received her LLB (Hons.) Law Degree from the University of London, England in 1990. She passed her Bar Finals exam in 1991 and was called to the Bar of The Bahamas, England and Wales. She served on the Social Security Reform Commission on National Insurance and the Advisory and Core team for the Domestic Investment Board. On May 25th 2007 Mrs. Wright was appointed to serve as a Senator in Upper House of the Parliament of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Married to Michael H. Wright, she is the mother of three, Michael, Mya and Madison.
